Who can open a minor account at Starion Bank?
- Minors aged 13–17 can open a checking or savings account with a parent or legal guardian as a co-owner.
Can a minor open an account without an adult?
- No. Minors under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian as a co-owner. Individual accounts are only available once the minor turns 18.
What are the responsibilities of the adult co-owner?
- The adult co-owner shares legal responsibility for the account, is able to monitor and help manage account activities, and is required to remain on the account until the minor turns 18.
Can we open the account online or through the mobile app?
- Yes! You can open a joint account online or through the Starion mobile app. The minor and adult must both be present and have their documents ready.
Is there a minimum deposit required?

What should we prepare before starting the application?

Select the “Joint Account” option when prompted.

The minor must have their birth certificate or Social Security card. You can also include a driver’s permit or government-issued ID.

Adult Co-Owner must have their valid government-issued photo ID.

Social Security Numbers are required for both the minor and the adult.
