Starion Bank Contributes $250,000, Challenges North Dakotans to Join

Bismarck, N.D. — Starion Bank is committing $250,000 to the Harvesting Hope Campaign to support the Great Plains Food Bank’s work in helping families facing food insecurity in North Dakota. Along with the donation, Starion is asking fellow citizens and businesses to consider donating to the campaign to help close the funding gap.

With food assistance nearly doubling in the last decade, the current Great Plains Food Bank facility is unable to keep up with demand. The Harvesting Hope Campaign is a $30 million investment that includes a new modern distribution center with expanded capacity, and new vehicles to expand the food bank’s reach.

While the campaign has already drawn significant support, including a $5 million appropriation signed by Governor Armstrong, there is still a long way to go. Starion Bank believes even more North Dakotans are ready and willing to step up and help.

“At its core, this campaign is about people. When one family struggles, it affects all of us,” said Craig Larson, CEO of Starion Bank. “Supporting the Harvesting Hope Campaign is one way we can all come together to help care for our communities today and into the future."

The Great Plains Food Bank plays a vital role in local communities, reaching individuals and families during moments of uncertainty and need. Starion’s support of the Harvesting Hope Campaign is driven by the belief that strong communities are built when people lift each other up and invest in lasting solutions.

“This donation reflects who we are at Starion Bank, a community‑focused organization that believes in showing up when our neighbors need us,” said Larson. “Food insecurity affects families in every corner of our state. We know these dollars, and the additional dollars from other North Dakotans, will have an immediate and meaningful impact.”

The Harvesting Hope Campaign brings communities together around the shared purpose of ensuring no family faces hunger alone. Through its partnership with the Great Plains Food Bank, Starion Bank continues its legacy of taking action to support families while helping strengthen connections not only in its markets but also across communities statewide.
