When Rachael Erickson started as a Personal Banking Officer back in 2009, she couldn't have known her career would one day lead to the Starion Bank executive team.
After more than 17 years of hard work, learning, and leadership, she has been promoted to Chief Risk Officer (CRO), where she will help guide the bank's risk management strategy and support Starion's continued growth.
Rachael began as a Personal Banking Officer before moving into the Credit Department, where she served as Credit Administrative Assistant, Credit Analyst, Credit Lead and most recently Credit Manager and Senior Vice President.
Along the way, she partnered with customers, lenders, credit professionals, regulators, and internal teams, giving her a unique perspective on how every part of a successful community bank works together.
"My years at Starion have given me a broad understanding of our bank, customers, and communities," she said.
"That experience strengthened my ability to balance sound risk management with business objectives while building strong relationships."
As Chief Risk Officer, Rachael will focus on identifying opportunities, navigating emerging risks and making informed decisions that keep customer funds and data safe and sound.
"I believe in a forward-looking and holistic approach to risk management that supports informed decision-making and responsible growth," Rachael said."
Rachael holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Dickinson State University.
She is also a frequent volunteer in Starion's community initiatives, investing her time into making a big difference to local families and organizations.
