Connor Bowden recently joined Starion Bank as a Business Banker in Fargo, bringing experience in lending, credit analysis and treasury management. While he's new to Starion, he already feels at home thanks to the welcoming culture and team-first mindset he's experienced from day one.

Connor graduated from Concordia College in May 2023 with a degree in Finance and a minor in accounting. Early in his banking career, he worked in several roles, gaining experience in credit underwriting, treasury management, and business lending. Those opportunities helped him develop a well-rounded understanding of banking and prepared him for his next step at Starion.

When the opportunity to join Starion came along, one thing stood above all else: the people.

"The biggest factor in my decision was my relationship with Mike Wickham," Connor said. "He really sold me on Starion's community banking approach, strong team environment and commitment to serving great customers."

Since joining Starion, Connor has been impressed by the culture and the support he's received from teammates across the organization.

"My first impression has been how great the people are," he said. "Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and willing to answer questions and help however they can. It's easy to see why Starion has been so successful."

Outside of work, Connor enjoys spending time with family, golfing, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

He's also active in the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber's Leadership Program, where he serves on the Alumni Relations Committee. Another activity that keeps him busy is refereeing youth basketball, which gives him an opportunity to stay involved and connected with local families.

If you spend a few minutes talking with Connor, you'll quickly notice that he enjoys meeting new people and building relationships. That outgoing personality is one of the reasons he's excited to start this next chapter at Starion.
