Today, Starion Bank employees are placing more than 600 Kindness Cash wallets with $20 in the markets served by the bank: Bismarck, Bottineau, Dunseith, Ellendale, Fargo, Mandan, Oakes and Rolla.
The wallets were placed at various locations throughout the communities and surrounding areas, along with instructions for those who find a wallet to use the money to pay it forward. Community members should be on the lookout for the wallets at businesses, parks, schools and other public locations. The bank encourages those who find a wallet to share the money with a friend, organization or even a stranger who may benefit from it.
The instructions also include a request to tell Starion how individuals gifted the cash via Starion’s Facebook page or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Those who share their story by May 12 will be entered in a drawing to have $250 donated to the charity of their choice.
In addition, after May 12, Starion will determine which stories had the most engagement on Facebook (like, loves, etc.). The non-profit organizations from those stories will be entered in a survey for the public vote and determine which will receive a $250 donation.
"We are excited to have Kindness Cash in our communities again,” says Craig Larson, Starion CEO and chairman of the board. “One of Starion’s core values is giving back to the community and is a foundation of our organization. This project is rewarding for our employees and gets the communities involved by inspiring our neighbors to positively impact the lives of others.”
