Starion Bank is committed to providing educational opportunities for our employees, as well as our employees’ families. One way we do this is through our Dependent Scholarship Program.
To qualify for the program, the student must be a dependent of a Starion employee who has been employed with the bank for at least one year. Additionally, the dependent must have either graduated high school this year or be a current college freshman-junior and will be attending college for the 2023-24 academic year. Starion has chosen Sydney Strand and Braxten Gifford as this year's winners of the $500 scholarship.
Sydney Strand, the daughter of Meg Strand, will be attending Minnesota State University Moorhead this year and will be studying Elementary Education. Sydney is a three-year member of the National Honor Society as an honor student. She was on the volleyball and basketball team, serving as the captain her senior year. Sydney is active in sports, playing basketball, volleyball, and softball. She was active in Choir, River Watch, and Yearbook. In her free time, she volunteers at her church, through Renaissance, and Philanthropy and Youth.
Braxten Gifford, the son of Rochelle Graff, will be attending Southern Utah University this year and will be studying Business/ Entrepreneurship. Braxten has been active in cross country and track. He has also been active serving as a lifeguard and a swim instructor outside of school.
For more than 20 years, Starion Bank has helped our employees, their families and students in our service areas increase their knowledge and opportunities through education.
